Amends Section 97-37-3 of the Mississippi Code to modify how law enforcement agencies may use proceeds from auctioning seized firearms.

Allows law enforcement agencies to use monies received from auction sales of forfeited firearms to purchase any equipment for the agency, expanding permitted uses beyond the previous restriction.

Permits forfeited merchantable weapons to be sold at auction only to federally-licensed firearms dealers, with proceeds directed to the seizing law enforcement agency.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
