Reenacts sections 13-7-1 through 13-7-49 of the Mississippi Code establishing the State Grand Jury Act, which allows the Attorney General to petition for impaneling of state grand juries to investigate crimes involving controlled substances and narcotics occurring across multiple circuit court districts.

Creates new section 13-7-51 to codify and extend the sunset date of the State Grand Jury Act from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2027.

Amends section 99-11-3 to extend the sunset date for venue provisions related to state grand jury indictments from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2027.

Removes the repealer language from section 27 of Chapter 553, Laws of 1993 (the original enabling legislation) since the repealer is now codified in the new section 13-7-51.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
