Reenacts sections 47-5-901 through 47-5-909 authorizing the Department of Corrections to house state offenders in county jails when physical space is unavailable at state correctional institutions.

Establishes reimbursement rates for county jails: $25.00 per day per offender for days 1-30, and $32.71 per day per offender for day 31 and beyond, with the Department of Corrections covering all medical costs.

Requires offenders housed in county jails to be classified according to Section 47-5-905 and limits most county jail sentences to 24 months maximum.

Allows sheriffs to request removal of state inmates to the State Penitentiary if they demonstrate just cause, such as dangerous behavior or lack of suitable medical facilities.

Extends the repealer date for these county jail housing provisions from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2027.
