Extends the moratorium on the application of the trip optimizer type system to state agencies from June 30, 2024, to June 30, 2027.

The trip optimizer system is required for state agencies to determine the most cost-effective method of travel for trips exceeding 100 miles per day using motor vehicles, unless the officer or employee is driving a dedicated state-owned or state-leased vehicle.

During the moratorium period, state agencies are not required to apply the trip optimizer system when calculating travel reimbursement for officers and employees.

The trip optimizer system must account for distance to pick up rental or fleet vehicles and include long-term rate discounts from state purchasing contracts.

Exempts statewide elected officials and Public Service Commission members from trip optimizer requirements when driving vehicles themselves or using vehicles for their transport.
