Authorizes chancery courts to issue temporary domestic abuse protection orders, in addition to municipal, county, and justice courts.

Temporary protection orders issued by chancery courts shall not exceed 30 days, or up to one year if the parties have no minor children in common.

Establishes appeal procedures allowing parties to appeal temporary orders through trial de novo in chancery court within 10 days, with protection orders remaining in effect during appeals.

Removes restrictions preventing chancery courts from considering petitions that do not first seek emergency relief in lower courts.

Effective July 1, 2024.
