Authorizes retired members of the Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) to work as law enforcement officers with local law enforcement agencies while drawing their full retirement allowance.

Allows retirees employed as law enforcement officers to work the full number of normal working days for the position and receive the full salary without restrictions on hours or compensation.

Prohibits retirees from being employed at a rank equal to or higher than the rank they held at the time of retirement.

Requires employers to pay the full employer contribution to PERS on compensation received by retirees employed under this provision, though retirees do not earn additional creditable service.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
