Honors Mr. John D. Roberts for receiving the Legion of Honor from France on February 15, 2024, for his World War II service.

Mr. Roberts served in Company B, 117th Infantry, 30th Infantry Division, landing in Normandy six days after D-Day and fighting through France and Germany.

On October 3, 1944, near the Rhine River, Mr. Roberts sustained injuries from a German mortar round and rifle round while demonstrating unwavering courage.

Mr. Roberts received an honorable discharge on November 6, 1945, and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, and other military decorations.

Copies of the resolution shall be furnished to Mr. Roberts and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
