Commends Mr. Lawrence "Bud" Young for 49 years of distinguished service as rodeo coach at Northwest Mississippi Community College upon his retirement.

Young began his rodeo career at age 12 in 1957 and founded Northwest's first rodeo team in 1973, which became known for winning awards in bareback riding, bull riding, barrel racing, and steer wrestling competitions.

Recognized Young's 36-year tenure as Northwest's longest in athletic history, 18 years as National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association facility director, and two terms as the association's president.

Young received the 2005 Northwest Sports Hall of Fame induction, 2013 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior College Sports Hall of Fame induction, and 2015 Cowboy Keeper Award from the National Day of the Cowboy organization.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Mr. Young, the President of Northwest Mississippi Community College, and the Capitol Press Corps.
