Honors the life and legacy of Chief William Anthony Anderson, Sr., who passed away on March 9, 2024, and expresses sympathy to his family and the Northeast Mississippi Community College community.

Chief Anderson served 24 years in law enforcement, including 12 years with Union County Sheriff's Department, 3 years as Verona Police Chief, and from 2014 until his death as Chief of the Northeast Mississippi Community College Campus Police Department.

As a Northeast Mississippi Community College basketball player, Chief Anderson scored 1,098 total points, won the state championship in his first year, scored a career-high 46 points, and was inducted into the MACCC Hall of Fame in 2023.

Chief Anderson was active in his faith at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and later Ecru Second Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and in various ministry roles, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 171.

He is survived by his wife Connie Anderson, three children (Anna Jade Price, Ebony Anderson, and William Anthony Anderson Jr.), three grandchildren, and extended family members.
