Commends and congratulates Ms. Eris T. Sims on her role as NAACP Chief of Staff, where she oversees day-to-day activities of the Board of Directors and Executive Office while supporting the president and CEO.

Recognizes Ms. Sims' career progression, including her 2015 start at NAACP as Senior Director of Events and her previous position as Executive Director of The Links, Incorporated.

Acknowledges her over 20 years of management experience in nonprofits and association meetings, including awards as 2016 Connect Magazine's 40 under 40 and 2013 Meeting Planner of the Year by the National Coalition of Black Meeting Planners.

Notes her bachelor of science degree from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and memberships in professional organizations including ASAE and PCMA.

Directs that copies of the resolution be provided to Ms. Sims and Capitol Press Corps members.
