Mourns the passing of James Harold "Jim" Butler, who died on August 25, 2023, and commemorates his life, service, and legacy.

Recognizes Butler's contributions as a community leader in Madison and Madison County, including his work as an agricultural expert, political strategist, lobbyist, contractor, military veteran, and Boy Scouts volunteer.

Honors Butler's military service in the United States Marine Corps and Army Reserve, his career with the Mississippi Farm Bureau and Mississippi Power Association, and his work as a homebuilder in the Greater Jackson area.

Acknowledges Butler's family including his wife Mary Hawkins Butler (Mayor of Madison), two sons James Bradley Butler and Joseph Richard Butler, three grandchildren, and siblings Pat Truesdale and Eddie Butler.

Directs the House to express deepest sympathy to Butler's family and friends and provide copies of the resolution to his family and Capitol Press Corps.
