Commends Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., on the observance of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Day at the Capitol on February 6, 2024.

Recognizes Alpha Kappa Alpha as the oldest Greek letter organization in the United States, founded January 15, 1908, at Howard University by college-educated African-American women.

Acknowledges the South Eastern Region's 116 chapters (48 undergraduate and 68 graduate) with over 14,000 members, led by Dr. Tracey Morant Adams, and Mississippi's 36 chapters established since the first chartering in 1934.

Highlights three current Mississippi House members belonging to the sorority: Angela Cockerham (District 96), Lataisha Jackson (District 11), and Tamarra Grace Butler-Washington (District 69).

Recognizes the sorority's community service initiatives including the "Advocate for Social Justice" program addressing suicide prevention among African-American youth and maternal mortality, and the "Soar to the Polls" voter engagement campaign addressing voting barriers through education, registration, and engagement.
