Commends Dr. Aubrey K. Lucas, President Emeritus of the University of Southern Mississippi, for his distinguished career and leadership from 1975 to 1997.

Recognizes Dr. Lucas's major accomplishments at USM including establishing the Teaching and Learning Resource Center, Faculty Senate, Center for International Education, Polymer Science Institute, and Institute for Learning in Retirement.

Acknowledges his continued service to Mississippi after retirement, including two interim presidencies at USM, one year as interim Commissioner of Higher Education, and leadership roles in numerous civic and charitable organizations.

Honors Dr. Lucas's receipt of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Mississippi Pinnacle Awards on April 9, 2024, placing him among prestigious recipients including former Senator Thad Cochran and blues legend B.B. King.

Directs distribution of the resolution to Dr. Lucas and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
