Commends Charles "Smarty Pants" King, Jr. for over 30 years of inspiring youth throughout Mississippi by teaching the importance of education, self-love, and practical life skills.

Recognizes King's creation of Smarty Pants Educational Services in 1980, which uses magic, brain teasers, and artwork to teach children; King legally added "Smarty Pants" to his birth certificate.

Acknowledges King's artistic talents and creation of approximately 2,000 artwork pieces that embed puzzles, riddles, and symbols to teach historical facts and concepts such as black history to various audiences including gang members.

Notes King's guiding educational principle: "If a child can't learn the way I teach, then I must learn to teach the way he can learn," adapted after moving to Mississippi to care for his grandfather.

Congratulates King upon his retirement announced on December 17 at the Global Connection Daycare Center in the Jackson Medical Mall.
