Honors Sharkey County's "Recover, Reconnect and Rebuild" event on March 22 commemorating recovery efforts from the March 24, 2023 EF4 tornado and thunderstorms.

Acknowledges that the storm killed 22 people total (15 in Sharkey County) and injured more than 165, marking the deadliest storm in the area in over 52 years.

Documents widespread devastation including 884 of 1,689 houses damaged or destroyed, 58 of 104 businesses damaged or destroyed, and critical facility damage including the courthouse, hospital, nursing home, library, and schools.

Recognizes the county's commitment to recovery despite overwhelming damage, including temporary hospital operations in inflatable tents and ongoing rebuilding efforts.

Directs copies of the resolution be provided to Sharkey County Board of Supervisors and Capitol Press Corps.
