MS SB2004

Requires the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce to adopt rules allowing grain producers to have their grain graded by an official inspector when submitting grain for sale at elevators or grain dealers in Mississippi, with the producer paying grading costs.

Mandates the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce adopt grain sampling and grading standards that are consistent with United States Department of Agriculture standards.

Requires the department to certify grain dealers that employ grain samplers and graders, and to certify courses of instruction in grain sampling and grading methods.

Authorizes the department to issue certificates to grain dealers who conduct satisfactory instruction courses in grain sampling and grading.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
