Amends Section 97-37-5 of the Mississippi Code to clarify that possession of multiple weapons results in one charge per weapon for felons prohibited from possessing firearms or weapons.

Expands the list of prohibited weapons for convicted felons to include firearms, bowie knives, dirk knives, butcher knives, switchblade knives, metallic knuckles, blackjacks, and firearm mufflers or silencers.

Maintains criminal penalties of a fine up to $5,000, imprisonment of one to ten years, or both for violating the prohibition.

Preserves pathways for relief including pardons, federal disability relief under Title 18 Section 925(c), and state certificates of rehabilitation granted by courts upon showing rehabilitation and low risk to public safety.

Effective date is July 1, 2024.
