Amends Mississippi Code Section 9-1-59 to provide that public defenders shall have free access to the Mississippi Electronic Court System records for matters involving indigent defendants.

Brings forward Section 99-19-73 regarding state assessments imposed on criminal and traffic violations for possible amendment, with all fund allocations currently marked as deleted.

Maintains specific state assessment amounts to be deposited into the General Fund: $90.50 for traffic violations, $243.50 for Implied Consent Law violations, $89.00 for Game and Fish violations, $121.75 for other misdemeanors, and $280.50 for other felonies.

Retains additional assessments for railroad crossing violations ($25.00), drug violations ($25.00 plus $2.00), and motor vehicle liability insurance violations ($200-$400.00 depending on offense number).

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
