Allows school boards managing sixteenth section lands to publish timber sale notices in trade publications, at school offices, or through other media beyond traditional newspaper publication to attract competitive bids.

Permits school boards to accept electronic bids for timber and forest product sales on sixteenth section lands.

Maintains existing requirements for minimum 21-day notice period before sales, with notice published at least once weekly for three consecutive weeks in newspapers.

Retains State Forestry Commission authority over marking timber for cutting, setting minimum prices, and scheduling harvesting operations, with appeal procedures available to school boards through the Secretary of State.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
