Allows persons receiving a Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) retirement allowance who are elected to the Legislature after retirement to continue receiving their allowance while serving in the Legislature in addition to regular legislative compensation.

Allows current Legislature members who are eligible for a PERS retirement allowance to receive that allowance while serving in the Legislature without having to retire from their legislative position.

Persons receiving a retirement allowance while serving in the Legislature shall not be active PERS members and shall not earn any creditable service for their period of legislative service.

Persons receiving a retirement allowance while serving in the Legislature must pay the full employee contribution amount on their legislative compensation, though this payment does not earn additional creditable service.

The 90-day waiting period and employment restrictions that normally apply to PERS retirees do not apply to those receiving a retirement allowance while serving in the Legislature; effective July 1, 2024.
