Requires Mississippi state and political subdivisions to compensate law enforcement officers classified as nonexempt under FLSA at their regular hourly rate for the first 43 hours per week, 86 hours per two-week period, or 171 hours per 28-day period.

Allows compensatory time in lieu of pay for these hours on at least an hour-for-hour basis, with earned time unable to be forfeited and must be granted as paid time off or compensated at the officer's hourly rate.

Requires officers to be paid for all accrued compensatory time at their current regular hourly rate upon separation of employment.

Mandates compliance with FLSA requirements for any hours worked in excess of the specified thresholds.

Effective date: July 1, 2024.
