Prohibits persons required to register as sex offenders from being employed as first responders without advance approval from the Director of the Department of Public Safety Sex Offender Registry.

Defines "first responder" as paramedics, emergency medical technicians, or individuals responding to fire, medical, hazardous material or similar emergencies, including compensated or volunteer organization employees.

Violations are misdemeanors punishable by fines up to $1,000, jail time up to six months, or both.

Effective July 1, 2024.
