Move back-to-school sales tax holiday from the last Friday in July to the second Friday in July.

Extend the holiday period by one day, now running from 12:01 a.m. on the second Friday in July through 12:00 midnight the following Sunday (instead of ending Saturday).

Holiday applies to retail sales of clothing, footwear, and school supplies with sales price under $100.00, excluding accessories, rental items, and specialized footwear like skis and roller blades.

Municipalities may suspend application of the exemption within their corporate limits by adopting and filing a resolution with the Department of Revenue at least 90 days prior to the suspension date.

Act takes effect upon passage.
