Senate Bill 2492 Summary

• Allows municipalities and counties to use use tax revenue monies for purchasing personal property or equipment needed to repair, maintain, or reconstruct roads, streets, and bridges.

• Permits municipalities to use use tax revenue for personal property or equipment related to water infrastructure and sewer infrastructure improvements, including storm water and drainage improvements.

• Revises the definition of "base expenditures" to include certain expenditures that municipalities and counties make for road, bridge, and infrastructure improvements, even when those expenditures cannot be paid with department funds.

• Effective July 1, 2024.
