Increases the number of full-time legal assistants authorized in the Sixth Circuit Court District from 3 to 4.

Maintains authorization of up to 2 additional legal assistants in the Sixth Circuit District subject to legislative appropriations or county board of supervisors resolution to fund salaries and benefits.

Allows district attorneys to employ additional legal assistants and criminal investigators beyond authorized limits using funds from any source including office funds, county funds, federal funds, grants, or interlocal agreements.

Requires district attorneys to report supplemental salary funding sources and amounts to county boards of supervisors and the Department of Finance and Administration.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
