Amends Section 25-31-21 of Mississippi Code to require the judicial district of the district attorney being assisted to pay all reasonable travel expenses incurred by an appointed attorney who travels beyond their normal district to prosecute a case, unless the state has already compensated those expenses.

Exempts the section from applying when a district attorney recuses themselves from a case or has a conflict of interest, regardless of whether the case has already been presented to the grand jury.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
