Reconstitutes the Mississippi Domestic Law Task Force to study domestic law in Mississippi and develop recommendations to the Legislature and Mississippi Supreme Court on revising domestic relations laws to reflect current jurisprudence.

Task Force membership includes chairmen of Senate and House Judiciary A Committees, representatives from the Mississippi Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, two sitting Chancellors, domestic relations attorneys, guardians ad litem, a disability law attorney, a Department of Human Services designee, and two law professors.

Task Force shall review child support calculation models (Income Shares Model, Percentage of Income Model, Melson Formula), child care expenses, custody formulas, guardian ad litem fees, PERS account division in divorce, Mississippi Rule of Civil Procedure 81, the tort of alienation of affection, and adultery/fornication criminalization statutes.

Task Force may request assistance from law schools, the Judicial College, Administrative Office of Courts, and the Bar Association, and may request studies on the economic impact of transitioning to an income shares child support model at the cost of appropriated funds.

Task Force must report findings and recommendations for proposed legislation and rule changes to the Legislature and Mississippi Supreme Court by December 1, 2026, after which it shall be dissolved.
