Allows notarial officers to increase service fees beyond the current $5.00 cap in accordance with rates set by the Secretary of State, rather than being prohibited from doing so.

Expands notary public eligibility to include non-Mississippi residents who have been employed in or maintained a practice in the state for at least 30 days immediately preceding application.

Permits notaries to deposit journal records with the circuit clerk of either their county of residence or employment (rather than only residence) upon resignation, revocation, suspension, death, or adjudication of incompetency.

Effective July 1, 2024.
