Criminalizes knowingly or intentionally manufacturing, importing, distributing, selling, leasing, or installing counterfeit airbag components, nonfunctional airbags, or non-compliant replacement airbag system components in motor vehicles.

Criminalizes installing components that disable a vehicle's diagnostic warning system from alerting the operator that an airbag is missing or that counterfeit/nonfunctional airbags are installed.

Violations are misdemeanors punishable by fines up to $5,000, imprisonment up to one year, or both.

Provides exception from criminal liability for franchised motor vehicle dealers without actual knowledge of counterfeit or nonfunctional components, with knowledge of other persons not imputed to the dealer or its owners.

Replaces existing Section 63-7-62 provisions and takes effect upon passage.
