Amends Mississippi Code Section 45-9-131 to allow retired municipal and county law enforcement officers to purchase their issued sidearm at an agreed upon price determined by their employing governmental authority.

Extends the agreed upon price provision to next of kin of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty when purchasing the officer's issued sidearm.

Maintains existing provisions allowing state agency law enforcement officers to purchase their issued sidearm at fair market value as determined by their employing state agency.

Requires approval from the appropriate governing authority (municipal, county, or state) before any firearm purchase by retired officers or next of kin.

Takes effect July 1, 2024.
