Senate Bill 2671 Summary

• Adds licensed occupational therapists, behavior analysts, and school psychologists to the list of school employees eligible to receive a $6,000 annual salary supplement, plus fringe benefits.

• Occupational therapists must have initial certification as an Occupational Therapist Registered from the National Board Certification of Occupational Therapy to qualify.

• Behavior analysts must be Board Certified (BCBA) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board and licensed to practice in Mississippi to qualify.

• School psychologists must have proper certification and be licensed to practice in Mississippi to qualify.

• Employees must submit documentation of certification by October 15 for the full supplement in the current school year, or by February 15 for a prorated supplement beginning with the second term; effective July 1, 2024.
