Requires students to complete a civics course demonstrating knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of U.S. history, principles, and form of government as a condition of high school graduation.

Mandates the State Board of Education incorporate civics proficiency requirements into the existing United States History curriculum required for all high school students.

Updates the U.S. History curriculum to include historical knowledge beginning with the settlement of Jamestown, Virginia in 1607 through the present, effective beginning the 2024-2025 school year.

Applies to any student graduating during or after the 2024-2025 school year.

Amends Section 37-16-7 of Mississippi Code to add demonstration of civics and U.S. History proficiency as a minimum requirement for high school graduation.
