Extends the repealer date for the State Grand Jury Act from July 1, 2024 to July 1, 2027, and codifies this extension in new Section 13-7-51.

Expands the subject matter jurisdiction of the state grand jury to include officer-involved shootings, embezzlement and fraud investigated by the State Auditor, and public corruption brought by the Attorney General's Office, while removing the requirement that crimes occur in multiple circuit court districts.

Changes the Attorney General's role from petitioning to merely notifying the impaneling judge of intent to convene a state grand jury, and requires the judge to impanel a jury within 30 days of receiving notice.

Reduces the initial term of a state grand jury from 12 calendar months to 6 calendar months, with a maximum total term including extensions of 18 calendar months instead of 24 months.

Removes the impaneling judge's authority to limit state grand jury investigations and repeals Section 13-7-49, which previously preserved other laws regarding county grand jurors and district attorneys' investigative authority.
