Board of Funeral Service must establish mandatory continuing education requirements for funeral service and funeral directing licensees through regulation.

Licensed funeral service and directing practitioners must complete 4 hours of continuing education annually and 8 hours within each two-year renewal period, except during the initial biennial renewal period.

Continuing education providers must apply to the board for approval to offer courses for credit and must pay a fee to cover the cost of board approval and monitoring.

Continuing education providers must maintain attendance records, including sign-in sheets, for three years.

Exemption from continuing education requirements applies to persons older than 65 years of age.
