Ole Miss football team achieved its first 11-win season in the university's 129-year football history and finished ranked No. 9 in both the AP and Coaches polls, the first top-10 final ranking since 1969.

The Rebels defeated Penn State 38-25 in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl on December 30, 2023, with quarterback Jaxson Dart recording 379 passing yards and four total touchdowns.

Ole Miss recorded 540 total yards and 38 points against Penn State's top-rated defense, marking the second consecutive bowl game with at least 500 yards of total offense under Head Coach Lane Kiffin.

The resolution celebrates Head Coach Lane Kiffin, the players, coaching staff, administration, faculty, and alumni for bringing pride and honor to the University of Mississippi and the State of Mississippi.

The resolution directs that copies be presented to the university's Chancellor, Athletic Director, Head Coach, and the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.
