Commends and congratulates the Booneville High School "Blue Devils" boys basketball team and Head Coach Michael Smith for winning their third consecutive Class 3A State Championship.

Team defeated Coahoma County 46-43 in overtime on March 2, 2024, with senior guard Alec Nunley hitting a decisive 3-point shot to secure the win.

Booneville finished the season 29-2 and made their fourth consecutive trip to the championship game under Coach Smith's leadership.

Coach Smith has led the team to four state championships since 2011, with the 2023-24 roster consisting of 19 players and coaching staff.

Resolution directs the presentation of this resolution to Coach Michael Smith and Principal Amy Goers, with copies forwarded to the Prentiss County Board of Education and Capitol Press Corps.
