Hartfield Academy "Hawks" football team won their first-ever MAIS 6A State Football Championship on November 18, 2023, with a perfect 14-0 record and shutout victory over Jackson Prep 21-0.

Head Coach Craig Bowman, who joined the program in July 2020, compiled a 41-9 record and led the team through an undefeated championship season emphasizing faith, family, academics, and football.

The resolution commends and congratulates the championship team, coaches, and school community while recognizing the historic milestone in Hartfield Academy's athletic history.

The resolution lists 41 players and Head Coach Craig Bowman on the 2023-2024 varsity football championship roster.

The resolution directs that it be presented to Coach Craig Bowman and Principal David Horner and distributed to the Capitol Press Corps.
