Commends Leslie Lyons, Ocean Springs resident, for being selected "Instructor of the Year" at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in the Health Sciences division.

Award was established by the Alumni Association and based on nominations from students, faculty, and administrators considering teaching excellence, college service, community service, and professional development.

Lyons has served as a Nursing and Health Sciences Instructor at MGCCC for seven years with degrees including an Associate in Science in Nursing from MGCCC, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University, and Master of Science in Nursing Administration from Western Governors University.

Prior to joining MGCCC, Lyons held positions as Nurse Manager, Risk Manager, Physician Peer Review Manager, and Director of Women's and Children's Services at Singing River Health System, Director at West Jefferson Medical Center, and Director of Nursing at Woodland Village Nursing Center.

Resolution directs the commendation be presented to Lyons, forwarded to the President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
