MS HB1006

Prohibits any person from manufacturing, selling, holding for sale, offering for sale, or distributing cultivated food products (food produced from cultured animal cells) in Mississippi.

Establishes misdemeanor penalties of up to $500 fine and/or up to 3 months in county jail for violations.

Authorizes the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce to suspend or revoke retail food establishment licenses for violations.

Authorizes the State Department of Health to suspend or revoke retail food establishment permits upon conviction of an owner or employee for violating this section.

Effective July 1, 2025; allows the Department of Agriculture and Commerce and State Department of Health to adopt implementing rules and regulations.
