Expands Section 25-11-127 to allow Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) members to retire and continue in state, district, or local elective office (previously limited to county or municipal offices only).

Permits retired PERS members to be elected to state, district, or local offices while receiving retirement allowances by either waiving all salary/compensation or receiving up to 25% of their average compensation.

Requires governmental bodies employing retired persons in elective office to pay employer contributions on the full regular compensation for those positions to the retirement board.

Amends compensation provisions in Sections 5-1-41, 5-1-47, 9-9-11, 25-3-3, 25-3-25, 25-3-31, 25-3-35, and 25-3-36 to allow elected officials receiving retirement allowances to waive all or part of their compensation to comply with PERS limitations.

Effective date: July 1, 2025.
