MS HB1121

Adds kratom (mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine) and its salts, isomers, and derivatives to Schedule III of Mississippi's Uniform Controlled Substances Act.

Kratom will be regulated as a controlled substance under the same category as other depressants, stimulants, and narcotic drugs.

Exempts any material containing Schedule III controlled substances that are listed as exempt substances in federal regulations (21 CFR Sections 1308.22, 1308.24, 1308.26, 1308.32, or 1308.34).

Effective date: July 1, 2025.
