Brings forward Section 27-103-305 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, which established the Opioid Settlement Fund as a special fund in the State Treasury for possible amendment

Opioid Settlement Fund consists of settlement monies received by the Attorney General from litigation with opioid distributors (Cardinal Health, McKesson, AmerisourceBergen), manufacturers (Janssen Pharmaceuticals/Johnson & Johnson, Allergan, Teva), and pharmacy chains (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart)

Fund monies may only be expended upon legislative appropriation and must comply with requirements specified in the opioid litigation settlement agreements

Unexpended amounts in the fund do not lapse into the State General Fund at the end of each fiscal year, and all interest or investment earnings are deposited back into the fund

Effective date is July 1, 2025
