Requires licensing of all persons, companies, or corporations engaged in the sale, installation, or maintenance of commercial fire-extinguishing equipment and hood systems for cooking operations, effective July 1, 2025.

Excludes activities related solely to sales and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers from licensing requirements.

Applicants must certify compliance with National Fire Protection Association standards and International Fire Code requirements, meet minimum experience requirements, and pass a competency test administered by the State Fire Marshal.

State Fire Marshal may charge a license fee not to exceed $400 and is authorized to promulgate rules and regulations for administration and enforcement.

Violations or failure to comply with cease and desist orders are misdemeanors subject to fines up to $1,000 per violation, with each day of continuing violations counted as a separate offense; violations also constitute cause for license revocation.
