Creates a crime for willfully making false reports of child abuse or neglect, with penalties of up to one year in jail and/or up to $5,000 fine.

Defines a false report as one unsupported by credible evidence where the person intentionally submitted the report knowing it was false.

Allows courts to order restitution to law enforcement agencies and the Department of Child Protection Services for reasonable investigation costs related to false reports.

Authorizes the Department of Child Protection Services or Attorney General's office to prosecute violations of false report provisions.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
