Amends Section 25-1-87 to clarify provisions for unmarked vehicles used by state agencies, departments, and political subdivisions, requiring written requests to the Governor that include manufacturer's serial number and justification when identifying marks would hinder official investigations.

Designates the crime of impersonating a state highway safety patrolman as a felony (previously misdemeanor) with penalties increased to a fine not exceeding $5,000.00 and/or imprisonment up to three (3) years (previously one year).

Creates new felony offense for impersonating any law enforcement officer under Section 97-7-44(2) with penalties of a fine not exceeding $5,000.00 and/or imprisonment up to three (3) years in the Department of Corrections.

Repeals Section 97-7-43 regarding impersonating state, county, or municipal officers or employees as a duplicative provision.

Effective date is July 1, 2025.
