Increases maximum annual salaries for circuit and chancery court reporters: $57,000 for those with 5 years or less experience (from $49,500); $66,000 for those with more than 5 but less than 10 years (from $58,500); and $72,000 for those with 10 or more years (from $64,000).

Allows appointing judges or chancellors to set individual court reporter salaries up to the new maximum amounts, rather than a fixed salary structure.

Mandates that no part of the salary increase shall be paid from the State General Fund; counties must pay their proportionate share based on the number of court weeks held in each county.

Expands court reporter travel reimbursement to include meal reimbursement at rates set by the Administrative Office of Courts, in addition to mileage reimbursement.

Effective date: July 1, 2025.
