Mississippi Office of Workforce Development shall administer and oversee the Mississippi Workforce Enhancement Training Fund, replacing previous collaborative oversight with the Mississippi Community College Board.

Workforce Enhancement Training contributions (0.15%), Mississippi Office of Workforce Development contributions (0.01%), and Mississippi Works contributions (0.04%) are collected from employers and distributed to three separate funds for workforce training and development activities.

Community colleges shall serve as the primary entity to facilitate workforce training programs funded through the Mississippi Workforce Enhancement Training Fund, with the Office of Workforce Development providing oversight and approval of training projects.

Transferred funds must be held in a Workforce Investment and Training Holding Account for 30 days before distribution to respective treasury accounts, with transfers completed within 15 days after the holding period expires.

The bill takes effect July 1, 2025, and clarifies administrative processes for fund collection, transfer, and oversight while maintaining existing contracts and agreements previously entered into by workforce development entities.
