Beginning October 1, 2025, manufacturers of pseudoephedrine or ephedrine products sold in Mississippi must pay monthly fees to the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators to support the National Precursor Log Exchange (NPLEx) system.

The National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators is responsible for setting the fee levels for manufacturers required to pay under this provision.

Pharmacies must use the NPLEx system to check for stop-sale alerts before completing over-the-counter sales of pseudoephedrine or ephedrine products, provided the system remains free to pharmacies and retailers.

The State Board of Pharmacy may request manufacturers provide written documentation demonstrating payment of required fees.

Existing restrictions remain in place, including daily limits of 3.6 grams and 30-day limits of 7.2 grams per person, with purchases tracked through electronic logs and valid identification requirements.
