Requires police officers to provide each party involved in a motor vehicle accident with the insurance information of the other party before leaving the accident scene, once the accident report is completed.

Maintains existing confidentiality protections for accident reports filed with the department while allowing disclosure to involved parties, their legal representatives, and insurers upon written request.

Brings forward Section 63-3-415 regarding statewide uniform traffic accident report forms, including requirements that forms include space for phone numbers of parties and witnesses involved in accidents.

Establishes that accident reports may be used to prove uninsured motorist status in insurance claims and sets criminal penalties of up to $2,500 fine and/or six months jail time for fraudulently obtaining accident report information.

Effective date: July 1, 2025.
