Requires a minimum of 30 days for in-patient alcohol and drug abuse treatment, replacing previous standards that allowed shorter commitments.

Modifies Section 41-30-19 to establish that judges may require in-patient care for public intoxication offenders for not less than 30 days and not more than 90 days.

Amends Section 41-30-27 to require persons committed for emergency care at treatment facilities be retained for not less than 30 days unless otherwise ordered by the court.

Updates Section 41-32-5 to establish a minimum 30-day commitment period for persons ordered to private treatment facilities for chemical dependency, with a maximum of 8 months.

Takes effect July 1, 2025.
